Abstract-basis

Charcoal on paper - 10"X18"

People have often told me that in order to acquire the right to delve into the 'non-naturalistic', one has to perfect the craft of naturalism first - as if there is some kind of a hierarchy between them...

The more I think about it, I find such a view to be radically mistaken!

To me, Naturalism and Non-naturalism are two completely separate USAGES of the same language...like writing newspaper articles and poems; both may use the same language, but they are totally unrelated disciplines!

Which part of me is my 'self', I wonder...

...is it actually possible to define the 'self' in physical terms - or is it beyond definitions?

I have always had a problem conforming to accepted interpretations. I just don't seem to be able to trust them!
There's always at least one missing link - even to the wisest advice!

...What am I?
A composite of tissues, nerves and nutrients;
a conglomerate of varying degrees of movement and stillness;
or am I just an 'idea' - a virtual construction of the 'Universal Mind'?!...

I wonder...
